Monday the 15th of April saw the culmination of the competitions at Droitwich Camera Club with the Print of the Year and Digital Projected Image of the Year.
Members were invited to enter a maximum of three pictures, spread between prints and digital projected images, which had previously been entered in competitions during the 2023-24 season. The independent judge was Peter Gennard, a well-respected judge who has visited our club many times.
Peter carefully reviewed every picture, sometimes making suggestions for improvements. Having viewed all the pictures, Peter gave his scores for each. Congratulations to Nigel Reader and Sue Abbott x 2, Audrey Couchman and Robin Couchman for images scoring a maximum 20 points. Scoring 19 points were Ric Harding x 2, Audrey Couchman, Robin Couchman, Ian Johnston and Nigel Reader.
After much thought, Peter announced the winners as:
Print of the Year: Al Haden - Sun Kissed Lagoon
DPI of the Year: Sue Abbott - Reese
The trophies will be awarded during the Annual General Meeting to be held next week. In addition, members will be able to vote on committee roles as well as have a chance to discuss the season, photographic plans for the summer and view an AV of members’ images.
