Andy’s photography was born from a love of roaming the North Yorkshire Coast and Moors of his early to mid teens resulting in the desire to record the scenes he enjoyed so much.
With a natural gift for art and drawing, Andy quickly took to ‘seeing’ through the lens and found an immediate ability to make compelling compositions.
He went on to study Graphic Design and has made it his career for over 30 years , the last 10 as self-employed.
This formal training in understanding visual spatial arrangements has only strengthened his eye for an image and his interest in photography continued, gradually working his way through film, slide and medium format cameras to the present day digital offerings.
Andy has had his work published in photography magazines and has appeared in two of the LPOTY Collection annuals receiving commendations.
Now, Andy combines his freelance career with assisting, leading and developing landscape photography workshops with Sarah Howard at Image Seen Photography deriving great pleasure in passing on his skills to aspiring photographers at all levels. His talk will look at his own journey in moving beyond the literal representation and the making of images with feeling. His most recent works can be seen at https://www.flickr.com/photos/andypage/
