MidPhot success for Audrey
We are delighted to announce that Audrey Couchman has won the Bert GutteridgeTrophy for the Best Contemporary Projected Image at the MidPhot Exhibition of Photography 2018.
Audrey said she originally created the image, which is entitled 'The White Setting,' as an entry for one of the Droitwich Camera Club monthly competitions a couple of years ago when the set subject was 'Still Life'. She went on to explain: "I decided it would be interesting to try a "white on white" image which is actually created by the light and shade falling on the objects, with no colour to distract the viewer. I borrowed some square plates from my daughter-in-law which I liked partly because of the shape and also for their plain, non-patterned appearance. Setting up the lighting to ensure that there were not too many highlights was a challenge, but I am pleased with the result. Although it was not successful in the initial DCC monthly competition I have always liked it and decided to enter it into MidPhot this year to see whether anyone else liked it too."
Fortunately they did and Audrey was thrilled to have been awarded the trophy which as you can see from the attached copy of her winning shot, is well deserved and we offer our congratulations on her success.
