Gold Medal success for Robin

We are delighted to report that our Competition Secretary, Robin Couchman, was recently awarded an RPS Gold Medal in the travel category of the prestigious Cheltenham International Salon.

Robin's image, which is attached with his kind permission, is of Lake Bled in Slovinia.

Regarding his recent success Robin said "This image was taken on a workshop in Slovenia with Guy Edwardes back in January.  The image was taken from a narrow ice covered ledge overlooking the lake after a long climb up a very icy track using crampons and head torches and carrying all our kit. This was done in the dark, pre-dawn.  We then had to wait for about an hour for the sun to come up and for the mist to clear sufficiently to create the swirling patterns.  We were there for about four hours in total with the light and mist changing all the time and then it was back to the hotel for breakfast"

Robin went on "Not much else to say really, I’ve certainly not had any previous successes like this before and normally I am just happy to get an image accepted".

Wow, what an adventure, after all that effort Robin deserves a medal!

Congratulations and well done to Robin. Now get out there with your camera!
