Mark Hamblin Biography
Mark is the special guest of Droitwich Camera Club this year. He is a relatively local lad coming from Warwickshire and developed an early interest in photography. He moved to Sheffield to study Microbiology and now lives in the Cairngorms national park. He is a successful photographer and has seven images commended in the BBC's Wildlife Photographer of the year, as well as a number of books and over 100 magazine articles. His books include Tooth and Claw (2007), Wild Peak (2003) and Wild Land (2005) with Peter Cairns. His latest is 2020Vision (2012)
He has recently formed with other nature photographers the Wild Media Foundation of which he is a director. This group aim to raise awareness of environmental issues though stories and exciting images.
Mark is a tour leader for specialist photo-tour companies and also exhibits.
