Happy New Year Everyone.
The next day out will be on Saturday 21st January at Slimbridge and we will meet at 11.00am in the restaurant/cafe area.
This promises to be a great day out with the chance to view Bewick Swans still arriving at Slimbridge from their breeding grounds in Arctic Russia. Also there is a huge variety of different species of birds with sightings of Marsh Harrier and Goshawk. In the late afternoon 2,500 wildfowl fly into Swan Lake and this can be viewed from the Peng Observatory, also there is a chance of seeing a large murmuration of starlings coming into roost.
Our DCC member Trevor Hunter, who is a member of WWT has very kindly offered to help on the day as he knows all the best places to sight various species of bird and Trevor is very knowledgeable. We hope that the weather is kind to us for the day as inclement weather may mean we have to rearrange another day.
